SMART Response LE combines universal design for learning (UDL)-friendly wireless handheld remotes, a receiver and powerful assessment software. The easy-to-understand symbols on the handheld remotes allow students at all reading levels to answer questions, receive instant feedback and stay involved in lessons. The big buttons on the easy-to-hold remotes ensure students who struggle with fine motor skills can stay involved, too. Teachers can gauge student understanding on the spot and adjust their teaching accordingly to be assured that every student in the classroom is following the lesson.
SMART Response LE integrates with award-winning SMART Notebook collaborative learning software, providing you with a software application for developing and delivering lessons and evaluating students. To get started, simply create yes or no, true or false or multiple choice questions in SMART Notebook. SMART Response LE is also compatible with other commonly used file formats, including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and PDF files, so you can import questions from other software programs and third-party question banks.
Once students respond to questions using their remotes, the assessment software in SMART Response LE automatically summarizes the results in a pie chart or bar graph. This instant response enables you and your students to see if the majority of the answers are correct, or if further review is required. By seeing results right away, you can adjust your teaching on the fly and be assured that every student in the classroom understands the lesson.
With SMART Response LE, you can access, view and manage all assessment data in one location. Tag student names or assessment questions with keywords to track characteristics that will help you measure and evaluate performance. Create reports that are as simple or as detailed as you need - from pie charts showing individual student achievement to bar graphs comparing class performance. You can even create assessment reports that show grades for the entire school year.
SMART Response LE is integrated with SMART Board interactive whiteboards and SMART Notebook software, as well as other education software, and Microsoft Word, which means you can use it with the equipment you already have, without extra training required. You can also upload test results to third-party gradebooks.
Display test results in easy-to-view pie charts or graphs, which you can then drag into a SMART Notebook page for a closer view and to add your own annotations in digital ink. You can also view results in detail, so you can see exactly how each student has answered.
Open SMART Response LE from a tab in SMART Notebook collaborative learning software. With SMART Notebook's Gallery of more than 6,000 items of graphic-rich content, you can add images and other multimedia to any question or assessment.
Compile tests for formative and summative assessment, prepare quizzes or exams in advance and ask spontaneous questions to gauge student comprehension at any point during a lesson.
Allow students to respond with complete anonymity. Students can use SMART Response LE without signing in, or they can participate in a quiz using any clicker, allowing you to gauge understanding as a group.
Use the built-in gradebook to track performance reports that are automatically collected and saved to one easily accessed file. You can also create reports that show grades for the entire school year. The gradebook automatically collects quiz answers and grades, stores assessment results and displays student and class history and trends. Teachers can generate PDF reports or export results to Microsoft Excel.
Insert content pages between questions to enhance a quiz, test or exam.
